Notice of Candidate Filing for City of Leeton
The City of Leeton hereby calls for a General Municipal Election on April 7th, 2026 for the positions of:
Two (2) Alderman at Large – Two-year terms
Candidates shall file their declaration of candidacy with the City of Leeton City Clerk, 108 W. Summerfield, Leeton Missouri. The first day of filing will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 9th, 2025 and close at 3:00 p.m. that day. After that, filings will be taken during normal business hours of the City Clerk’s office. The filing period ends at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30th, 2025. On the first day of filing, a drawing will be conducted to determine the candidate’s ballot position. After the first day of filing, candidate filings will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Proof of identity in the form of a Voter ID card, Missouri Driver’s license, birth certificate, or other form of certified or photo ID will be required for filing. Office hours at the City’s Clerk's office are 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday, excluding holidays. Candidates must have resided in the City of Leeton, Missouri for at least one year. They must be at least 21 years of age and be registered voters in the State of Missouri. Municipal Election will be held Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, at the location and hours to be designated by Johnson County Election Authority.
